Brian Connolly (d. 1997) breathing life into rock ‘n’ roll (The Sweet, 1978)

The Sweet’s “Love Is Like Oxygen” was recorded in 1977 and released as a single in January of 1978. The song hit the top ten in the US, UK, Canada and Germany and appears on The Sweet’s Level Headed L.P.

I bought the “Love Is Like Oxygen” single in ’78 when I was but a tiny person, aged 11. Not only do I still think the tune is a great one, I feel it ranks up there with the best rock songs of all-time.
