Daily 70s Spot: Munchos commercial (1972)

"It's MUNCHOS!"

“It’s MUNCHOS!”

“The new potato snack. So different. So delicious. So doggone munchy. Everybody wants to know what it is.”

Today’s Daily 70s Spot brings the crunch. That’s right – an early Munchos commercial from when the potato snack was still “new.” Spot aired in August of 1972.

  1. If I’m not mistaken, the man at the radio at the end of the Munchos ad is actor Hank Garrett. He was in “Car 54, Where Are You?” and he was the assassin dressed as a mailman in the 70s film “Three Days of the Condor.”

    • IMDb doesn’t have a picture for Hank Garrett (hate when that happens) – but a Google image search brings up photos and it sure looks like him. Thanks!
