Daily 70s Spot: Noxzema Shave Cream (1979)

Scary or enticing? (Noxzema commercial, 1979)

Scary or enticing? (Noxzema commercial, 1979)

“The closer you shave – the more you need the medicated comfort of Noxzema shave cream.”

Time to lather up our Daily 70s Spot and spread it on our face. In today’s commercial we find a friendly Scandinavian(?) model and a can of Noxzema shaving cream. Spot aired in October of 1979.

*Note: I recognize the spokesmodel’s face in this spot but can’t place her name. She would be a replacement for Farrah Fawcett who starred in earlier 1970s Noxzema commercials. If you have the knowledge, please let me know.

  1. Can’t place the name. She looks like a young Elizabeth Montgomery.

Reminds me of the only time I was shaved by a barber with a straight razor. Felt like my skin was being peeled off. Great shave, though !!!
