In 1978, actor/comedian Paul Lynde was on tour with the play, The Impossible Years. While passing through Toledo, Ohio, Lynde, an Ohio native, stopped by WSPD-TV and haphazardly read the weather report.

  1. That was hilarious!! Paul didn’t know his geography too well: the 111 temp was in Phoenix, ARIZONA, not Nevada. His “69” comment was priceless and not bleeped out by the censor (I guess the show was live.) Funny stuff! Thanks for posting.

    • Definitely fun. He knew his Ohio stuff at least. I can’t imagine a newsroom being so adventurous these days.
