It is with sadness that I report the death of actress, Ann B. Davis. Davis was much beloved and best-known for playing housekeeper, Alice Nelson on The Brady Bunch (1969-1974). Less-remembered is that Davis also won two Emmy awards for her work as Schultzy on The Bob Cummings Show in the 1950s.

Davis, who celebrated her 88th birthday in May, reportedly fell and suffered a head injury today and never regained consciousness.

Regular readers of this site know that I’m a big Brady fan and the character of Alice was always a particular favorite. It was mostly the varied talents of Davis that made the family housekeeper seem so lovable and multifaceted. Thank you Ms. Davis for the entertainment and memories!
