A glance through the chart book tells us that the #1 tune on Billboard’s “Hot 100” for this week, June of 1971, was The Honey Cone with “Want Ads.”

This energetic sing-a-long was written by Greg Perry, Barney Perkins, and General Norman Johnson. Below, you’ll find The Honey Cone performing “Want Ads” on Soul Train in ’71. It puts the “Fun” in “Funky.” (Yes, I just said that.)
