Music For Monday: Shocking Blue, ‘Venus’ (1970)

“Goddess on a mountain top…” (Shocking Blue, ‘Venus,’ 1970)

“She’s got it!”

Cats and Kittens! Straight outta Holland! It’s Shocking Blue with “Venus.”

Venus” hit the top of the Billboard US “Hot 100” in February of 1970. The song, written by guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen, was originally recorded and released in the summer of 1969. Making the tune one of those early 70s holdovers from the sixties. If you get my meaning.
