Sing with me now: “The Pump…Do do doot…The Pump!”

A grand Saturday to everyone! Time to dust off some vintage 70s commercials. This weekend our theme is 1978.

First up, you’ll enjoy a Ken-L-Ration talking puppies dog food spot from September of ’78. After that, a commercial for Vitalis hairspray featuring a non-aerosol bottle known as “The Pump.” Yes, we were somewhat environmentally conscious way back when. Keep your eyes-peeled for actor Patrick Wayne riding a horse in this one. Air Date: January, 1978.

  1. Of course the very first thing to flash into my head was that classic tune, “My dogs better than your dog”. What a time that was, only to be topped by the “Gaines Burgers” for dogs. There’s something you’re not likely to see again.

    • That’s funny. My wife had to sing “My dog’s better than your dog” to me when I mentioned Ken-L-Ration the other day. =)
