Bionic Disco: Celebrating 5 Years Online!

Five years young!

Five years young!

Loyal visitors and 70s time-walkers – Bionic Disco is celebrating five years online today! I “soft launched” the site on May 30th, 2011 and I’m very pleased that you continue to check in and share the 1970s commercials and pop culture goodness.

To help the site grow and thrive, I’d love it if you could share your favorite Bionic Disco posts with your friends. You can find our Facebook and Twitter pages with a simple click. Also, don’t be afraid to leave friendly comments and distorted memories on posts. Hundreds of you check in here every day, but it sure is awfully quiet most of the time.

THANK YOU, Bionic pals! I do need to mention that my daily work schedule has become a bit overwhelming in the past two years, so I’m going to need to step back from daily posting here. Never fear though, there will still be regular updates and more awesome commercials on the way. Just not seven-days-a-week.

If you find yourself in need of some awesome 1970s music, I invite you to visit my newest site, CHERRY STEREO.com!

  1. Happy Fifth birthday!

It has been, and I’m sure will continue to be, an enjoyable trek through the locker of forgotten fond memories. To me, what sites like yours provide is really more of a reflection of not only how things once were, but how those moments from the past have formed the today we live in. While I”m sure there are a lot of folks that utter the phrase, “wow, things were so much better then”, as like me, they relax into a reverie of found memories and experiences, we do forget that at the time, it was just a day, a TV show, a little lunar rover on the side of a Tang bottle; but for us that lived through them, they were good days well worth remembering. Of course, our parents were always happy to point out how much better things had been, “back then”. We’d smile and nod our heads but inside we knew better, it was a good day … yes, even disco!

So, Happy Fifth Birthday, and thank you for taking us along with you, on this walk through the past.

    • Thanks very much, Darrin. And thanks for the always interesting comments!
