“Right Guard protects people – from me!”

As you have likely heard, caustic but lovable comedian Don Rickles passed away Thursday at the age of 90. As a small tribute to the man, here’s two commercials from the fall of 1974 featuring Rickles during his time as advertising spokesperson for Right Guard.

You can view a third Rickles Right Guard spot (posted last year) if you’d like more, you hockey puck, you.

  1. Thanks for remembering Don Rickles. He was not everyone’s cup of tea, but I saw him live on stage 3 times and he was hilarious. He was totally unscripted. He also never used profanity. I even got to meet him backstage and I had him call me a “dummy”. I was totally honored. These commercials were made just a few years before he starred in a vastly underrated series “CPO Sharkey”. Rest in peace, you hockey puck!!!

    • I was a Rickles and ‘CPO Sharkey’ fan as well. That’s great that you got to see and meet him.
