Continuing the holiday season commercial-fest, we have a Kodak Pocket Camera spot from November of 1974. This one features actor-director Noam Pitlik as the dad in the middle of a human Christmas tree. Let it snow!

Welcome to December! This month we’re going to roll out the holiday-flavored Seventies commercials on a daily basis. I’m sure we’ll all be joyfully sick of them by the end of the year.
To start us off we have a spot for the Polaroid Land Camera featuring Brenda Vaccaro surrounded by Christmas trees. The commercial aired in November of 1972.

Farrah Fawcett Hair Care By Faberge circa 1979
Who remembers that actor-model-superstar Farrah Fawcett (Charlie’s Angels) had her own line of hair care products in the late 1970s? I had certainly forgotten, but this photo pulled from the end credits of a 1979 game show brought the memories back.
Looks like Farrah, famed for her golden, feathered locks, teamed with Fabergé to offer the great unwashed public a selection of shampoos, conditioners, and hair spray. The line was launched in 1977, but beyond that fact, details are scarce.

It’s time to beautify your long and luxurious Seventies hair with two commercials from February of 1975.
First up, a spot for Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner. Second, a commercial featuring the For Brunettes Only hair color line.

“A car that almost drives itself.”
A pair of “new for ’74” car commercials today. In the first garage we find the Chevy Caprice Classic. This thing just about drives itself! The spot aired in November of 1973.
In the second garage we have the Mercury Montego MX Brougham and a fancypants magic trick. The spot aired in September ’73.

We’re back in action after the holiday with two famous Seventies comedians. First, we find Saturday Night Live‘s Jane Curtin in a serious 1976 spot for One-A-Day Vitamins.
Second, Willie Tyler and Lester star in a December ’76 commercial for Haggar Slacks.
