“Gimmie what ya promised me!” (Joe Tex, ‘I Gotcha,’ 1972)

A very fine Monday morning to everyone. I’m back from a week’s vacation in London and ready to get down. Here’s Joe Tex with his best-selling hit, “I Gotcha.” “I Gotcha” appeared on the L.P. of the same name in December of 1971. The single climbed to a high of #2 on the US Billboard “Hot 100” chart on May 06, 1972.

Here’s Joe Tex performing on Soul Train in 1972 with the awesomely funky dancer, Damita Jo Freeman. Get it!

“Hot, friendly, fast delivery.”

A very fine Sunday morning to you. Here’s your 70s spot: a very early Domino’s Pizza commercial. This one stems from the Kentucky market. I don’t remember consuming Domino’s until the early 80s during my Los Angeles upbringing, so this kinda shakes my perception of time. The commercial aired in September of 1978. Order up!
