Happy 2018 from your friends in 1971!

“A work of love.”

A very happy New Year’s Eve to everyone! For our last vintage commercial of the year we have something appropriate for the occasion – a spot for Korbel Champagne. This one aired in November of 1971. Pop!

‘Watch out for the Roadrunner!”

You know what we could all use more of right now? That’s right, you guessed it – Josie and the Pussycats!

The tune “Roadrunner” appeared on the Josie and the Pussycats soundtrack album in late 1970 and features Kathleen Dougherty, Patrice Holloway, and Cheryl Ladd. Yes, that Cheryl Ladd.

Here’s a chase clip from the original 1970 Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Have a happy Funshine Friday!

A pair of Pizza Hut commercials delivered hot ‘n’ 40 year-old fresh for you now. The first spot aired in January of 1977 and has a “Good Things” jingle. The second, brings in the “SuperStyle” theme and aired in October of 1978. Mangia, mangia!

A pair of commercials to help keep you dry today. One for Tickle deodorant from April of 1977. And one from the previous year for Ban Roll-On. Try them on below.

The Hungry Dodger

“The second helping of meat is already in.”

Back to our regularly-scheduled commercials today. First up, a spot I particularly like as it features my hometown team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, for Swanson Hungry-Man TV dinners.

Second, a spot for Brown ‘N Serve Sausage. Both commercials aired in November of 1978.

In this edition of Brady Bunch Moments we feature the first season episode of The Brady Bunch from December 19, 1969. Carol loses her voice and lo-and-behold gets it back just in time to sing for Christmas. It’s a gol’ dang miracle!

PARTRIDGE POP

There's probably a clever joke to made here about Partridges and pear trees - but I'm feeling lazy

On Partridge Pop, we bring you a holiday nugget from season two, “Don’t Bring Your Guns To Town, Santa,” which originally aired on December 11, 1971. Stick with the clip through the first few moments to watch the family sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and cavort around the tree.
