You can soak up some hearty 1976 vibes in today’s assortment of vintage commercials. We start off with Kentucky Fried Chicken’s “Real Goodness” campaign, move on to a classic “Flick your Bic” spot, and top it all off with GE Microwaves and VO5 Hairspray. It’s a strange combination, but it works.

Hello, and welcome to a warm August. Let’s dial back the commercial time machine to the years 1972 through 1975. First up, a spot for Jell-O’s Soft Swirl dessert. This one features Denise Nickerson of Willy Wonka fame.

Following that delicious dish, enjoy ads for a Rockwell Drill, Tastykake and their not-frightening-at-all puppet mascot, and Sugar Twin.

Rolling back to early in the decade – we’ve find four fresh spots. First up, it’s Franklin Cover, later of The Jeffersons, for Safeguard Soap. Following that, you’ll spy ancient-but-lovely ads for Rolaids, Harveys Bristol Cream (with Geoffrey Scott), and finally, a promo for Marcus Welby, M.D. (With Robert Young and James Brolin).

Seeing as it’s mid-July, it’s high time I got some vintage commercials posted. Here’s an eclectic batch spanning 1972 to ’75. You’ll gasp in awe at Glad Sandwich Bags (with an early appearance by future Academy Award nominee James Cromwell), Aquafilter, the ’74 Subaru (with Edward Winter), and Close-Up Toothpaste.

Get your minds out of the darn gutter and enjoy a vintage commercial starring Brownie, the animated Swift Sausage mascot. There’s nothing creepy or weird going on here at all…probably.

Along with Brownie, you’ll find spots for traveling to Spain, using Borateem Plus, and serving Gaines Burgers to your pup. Rod Perry of S.W.A.T. fame appears in the latter. Have fun.
