Not flamingos, but an incredible simulation. (Ice Capades, 1978)
“A dazzling jubilee of fun and color!”
Let’s take in a show! First, we’ll visit the Ice Capades’ “Magic”-themed extravaganza in a commercial from March 1978. Afterwards, we’ll take our seats for the touring production of A Chorus Line in November of 1979.
Happy 1977 Day! (Yeah, I just made that up). Here’s a pair of commercials from that double-digit year. First up, a January ABC promo for the Captain & Tennille show. Guest stars include Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis Jr., John Byner, Muhammad Ali, and Joe Namath.
Second, an April ’77 commercial for Avon featuring a home visit from the “Avon Lady.”
‘I got this fabulous car that drives me out of my mind…’
“It’s incredible – and it’s mine!”
A pair of Ford commercials today that show off the upcoming 1975 models. In spot one, we’re offered four versions of the Mustang II, along with the Southern California lifestyle and a take on the tune “You’re Sixteen.”
In spot two, the Ford Granada drives around what I believe is Palm Springs, California. Both commercials aired in September of 1974.
Two commercials from Aurora are on display today. First, we find Don Adams as a gangster and Joey Forman as the Bingo Master in A Skittle Bingo commercial from September 1973.
Second, an October 1973 spot for the Xlerators race set. “From Aurora!”
We’re at the very top of the decade today with a pair of January 1970 commercials for Kraft. The first spot features Grape Jam and a French Toast meal suggestion. The second spot offers up Macaroni & Cheese recipes.
Slinky Kitten and Cater-Puller are always eager to be dragged around the house
“Its fun for a girl and a boy!”
Two 1977 commercials now for James Industries’ Slinky toys. The first features the traditional Slinky toy but in colored plastic versions rather than the original metal.
The second spot focuses on pull-toys including the Kitten, Train, and Cater-Puller models. Roll ’em!
