Here’s two road-worthy commercials from 1971. First, we have a spot for Firestone tires’ Mini-Sport brand made for smaller, “foreign” cars. This one aired in August ’71.
Second, a December ’71 spot for Shell gasoline featuring “Pancake Lubricant” for railroad cars. Say, what now? Watch and learn!

Here’s a pair of frosty ale commercials from late in the decade. The first, features Schmidt’s Beer and comedian David Brenner. It aired in November of 1979.
The second spot, for Tuborg Gold, aired in August ’79.

Two mildly humorous medicinal commercials for you today. First, we have a November 1972 spot for Alka-Seltzer featuring a regretful fellow in a deli.
Second, a sleepy slouch wakes up with a shot of “Binaca Blast” mouthwash in January of 1974.

“New action for the Cat Set.”
A pair of Ford commercials driving in. In the first spot, from March 1977, Farrah Fawcett shows us the new Mercury Cougar line-up while cavorting with wild animals.
The second spot aired in April of ’77 and presents the large and luxurious Lincoln Continental. I think Ford was trying to turn a possible liability into a virtue here.
